TOLEDO, OH -- The Arts Commission's Art in Public Places program, which manages the City of Toledo's public art collection via the One Percent for Art Program, has completed a full restoration of the sculpture Vessel, which will be reinstalled on November 18, 2025

Vessel was created by RDG Planning & Design 2020 and commissioned by The Arts Commission in collaboration with Mercy Health. It was located in the roundabout at Cherry Street and Manhattan Boulevard prior to an auto accident that dealt significant damage to the sculpture in 2023 and necessitated its immediate removal.

The Arts Commission is proud to announce that the sculpture has been completely restored and will be reinstalled to its original location. The restoration process encompassed every major portion of the sculpture, from structural repairs and metalworking, to finish detailing and the replacement of all electrical components.

Reinstallation is scheduled for November 18, 2025.

The Arts Commission would like to thank RDG Planning & Design of Des Moines IA, Flatlanders Sculpture Supply of Blissfield MI, A-1 Rolling of Mt Clemens MI, Bay Crane of Oregon OH, Great Lakes Electrical of Toledo OH, and the Northwest Ohio Building Trades Council for their assistance in completing this project.
